Following my previous article : How to start your own website: Part 2, I have told you that I will share with you the courses and training I have done in order to get a better idea of what to do and how to start my journey. It is time to build your own website
Now that you have purchased your domain name and your hosting account, you are thrilled to start building your empire. If you didn’t do this, you will need to get everything sorted now.
In case you have not visited How to start your own website: Part 2, I will add the Namecheap banner below for your convenience. Through Namecheap I have purchased a domain name and my hosting account.
When you have no clue on where to start building your website, as I was, you will need to learn.
Within this next step, you will be learning basic steps on how to start building your website.
Instead of writing 20.000 words on how to do this, I will make this short and brief with different videos and links so you can learn even quicker and do it as they explain it.
In order to build my website, I have chosen to use the WordPress manager by Softaculous. If WordPress is not your cup of tea, there is an easy website builder you can use as well but WordPress has way more features in letting you do what you want to do!
How to install WordPress Manager by Softaculous?
When you want to install the WordPress manager, it is a very easy task but just clicking the WordPress manager in your Namecheap cPanel, choose your theme and press install!

Oke, now you have WordPress to start building you website. You will receive an email with the WordPress account details and where to go to acces your Admin menu.
Well, now the fun part starts! You will start building your website. Customize how it looks and make it YOURS!
When scrolling through the internet and looking for the video or the information you are looking for can be a time consuming task. That is why I have will share with you the once I have personally viewed and used to create mine.
You will learn a lot from what I will be able to show you on the video below. Just remember that they are guidelines and the best way to find YOUR way is to play around with WordPress. Once you get the feel of it, you will feel it is YOURS and not something copied from someone else.
This video that I will share with you is about 1h30 long. So yes it is a long one but you can skip to the parts that you are interested in or just listen to the full explanation as I did.

If you would like to do what i did and take a break of the computer screen ( Too much is never good!) I have purchased this book from Amazon which is really good. It explains WordPress in a very educational way. When i was fed up with the computer screen, i would just do some good old reading .
